Sponsor a student placement
The Portland Re-Engagement Program is a specialized campus of Portland Secondary College designed to support students who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from mainstream education.
The program serves students from diverse backgrounds who have a strong desire to improve their chances of success in life.
The program aims to assist students in making a positive contribution to their community by transitioning to further education, training or employment.
The program is located in South Portland and provides a homely setting with small class sizes that foster strong and supportive relationships between students and teachers, which is crucial for both social and academic growth.
The smaller class sizes and individual attention are the cornerstones of the program’s success, however, it comes at a higher cost than mainstream education models.
The program is currently funded by Portland Secondary College and charitable donations.
The continuation of the program, however, is a year to year proposition unless a sustainable funding source can be secured.
Businesses, families, or individuals are invited to sponsor a student for $2000 annually. Smaller contributions for partial sponsorship are also gratefully accepted.
This tax-deductible donation will allow a student to continue their education at the centre and give them the very best chance of success in life.
